All products are created using traditional screen printing techniques. This is the process of forcing dye/pigment through a mesh screen onto the fabric below, creating one layer of colour at a time.

More easily considered as a stencil, the screens are built by breaking the design down into layers of colour, and exposing each one onto a separate screen using a light sensitive emulsion. Once the screen has been exposed to a UV light, the areas not marked out in the design are fixed, and the remaining areas can be washed away with water - creating the stencil.

Although it is a very laborious process, it creates very unique and less sterile results. Rhian's designs are precise, but she enjoys the affect of creating these by hand - it softens the outcome, and often there will be slight imperfections which add to the design, and remind the buyer that the product has been created entirely by hand.
